Serious water ingress concerns became a key issue for a commercial complex on Sarandi 690 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. While not noticeable at first, the water soon spread enough through the concrete structure to visibly impact its subfloor, chambers, and elevator shaft. If the problem continued, it was clear that the building’s structural integrity would be compromised. That would not only make the structure less safe for any inside it, but it would also shorten the building’s life span if the water ingress was left untreated. It’s a problem that would minimize any return on investment for the owner of the building. To mitigate that, the owner sought a solution that could eliminate the ingress and fortify the existing concrete to extend the building’s life span.
During the owner’s search, they chose to consult with Kryton’s Argentina distributor, Ferrocement. It ended with a recommendation to use the crystalline slurry treatment Krystol T1. With its ability to permanently repair and waterproof leaking concrete, Krystol T1 would be able to resolve the owner’s current water ingress problem and any potential future concerns. In return, the owner would have fewer fees related to concrete maintenance and repair sessions throughout the life span of the commercial complex.
Realizing the financial benefit of this repair solution, the owner went ahead with a Krystol T1 application for their building. The end result left the owner with a completely dry, watertight building ready to operate commercially for years to come.
