A villa swimming pool in Mamzar (Dubai) required a waterproofing system that would stop severe leakage due to tremendous hydrostatic pressure.
Several previous attempts were made to stop the leaks with various repair materials. However, none were able to withstand the strong hydrostatic pressure.
In November 2003, GST was contracted to supply the materials to stop the severe leakage and apply waterproofing to the concrete. The Krystol Crack Repair System was first utilized to stop the flowing water from many points and then the Krystol T1 & T2 Waterproofing System brush on system was applied on the entire concrete surface.
All the leakage points were treated and repaired one by one utilizing Krystol Crack Repair System to stop the flowing water as shown. The leakage points continued to shift during the repair treatment due to high hydrostatic pressure.
The water leakage from all the leaking points was totally stopped after 12 days. Unlike previous attempts with the other materials, the Kryton system worked as specified to stop the leaking water. To date the system is performing as specified.
