Al Saqran Tower is located in Jumeirah Lake Towers and features modern studio, one and two bedroom apartments with top of the line finishings. During construction, traditional surface-applied membranes were used to waterproof the six levels of basement of the tower. The membranes failed and severe leakage occurred. Several attempts over a two year period were made to repair the leakage using a polyurethane injection system. However all attempts failed to permanently repair and stop the leaking against the high ground water pressure.

Solution

After two years of trying to repair the leaks with an injection system, the team tried Kryton’s Krystol Crack Repair System. The Krystol Crack Repair System was used to repair the leaks in the raft slab and retaining walls. Kryton treated the severe leakages in the whole substructure (especially in the level six basement) using our Krystol Crack Repair System. Additionally Kryton provided a full coat of Krystol T1 & T2 Waterproofing System to the 2,250 m2 (24,000 square foot) raft slab and to the retaining walls of basement level six for extra protection. To date the system is performing as specified.
