Arab Construction World – June 2010
Kryton International is bolstering its position in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Lebanon by appointing Mr. Fadi Farhat to the position of territory manager. The move is reflective of Kryton’s ongoing commitment to the Middle East and will allow the company to provide additional technical concrete waterproofing support to its customers in the region.
According to a report released May 17, 2010 by the Institute of International Finance (11F), the GCC is expected to be the second best emerging market after Asia, leading the Middle East’s economic recovery. The IFF is projecting GDP growth in the GCC of 4.4 per cent in 2010 and 4.7 per cent in 2011, compared to just 0.3 per cent in 2009. One of Farhat’s key roles will be to ensure Kryton is part of pushing that growth forward through infrastructure development and enhancement.
He will be responsible for driving concrete waterproofing specifications as well as supporting new construction and remedial rehabilitation projects. Farhat brings several years of construction material experience to his role at Kryton as well as a track record of winning and developing major projects.
“I’m very excited to be taking on this new challenge with Kryton,” he said. “It’s an exciting time right now in the GCC with lots of opportunities to be a part of the ongoing change and development in the region. My goal is to make sure Kryton is a part of it all.”Kryton created the world’s first original crystalline waterproofing admixture and has been a global player for more than three decades. The company already has a strong distribution network in place in the Middle East and has been helping customers in the region with their concrete waterproofing needs for more than five years.
