Las Vegas, NV – (January 22, 2014) At 1pm, on Wednesday, January 22nd, Kari Yuers, FACI, will be presenting a Speaker’s Corner talk on “A Fresh Look at Chemical Admixtures: Education Document E4-12“. The American Concrete Institute (ACI) will be hosting their second annual Speakers Corner at their booth, 10339S in the South Hall.
As the E4-12 document sub-committee Chair, Yuers will cover the improvements and changes to this document on Chemical Admixtures including the new additions of Permeability Reducing Admixtures, Admixtures for mitigating ASR, Freezing admixtures, Admixtures for SCC as well as some reorganization to the document to help the reader better understand the various classifications of Chemical Admixtures and their benefits.
Yuers notes that, ‘With so much change in the concrete industry it is critical to bring together all the new ideas and initiatives being developed within the global concrete construction community’.

Her research interests are concrete admixtures related to permeability, durability and sustainability of concrete structures as well as materials for concrete repair and protection.
She is a currently the Chair of ACI’s International Advisory Committee (IAC); Member and Secretary of Committee 212, Chemical Admixtures; E702, Design of Concrete Structures; and E701, Materials for Concrete Construction.
