The Sibelco Silica-sand silo in Jakarta required a waterproofing system that would protect the contents of its silos from moisture. Wet Silica-sand adds significant cost and inefficiency to their business. The Silica-sand within the silo must be kept 100% dry.
In 1998, Krystol T1 & T2 system were utilized to waterproof the suspended roof. Krystol's abilities to penetrate the concrete and permanently waterproof are key to the long term resistance of Indonesia's moist climate and heavy tropical rain.
To date the concrete storage tanks have been watertight and have kept the sand within the silios completely dry.
